La Palma visit, September 2023
During September 2023 my fellow planetary imaging aficionado Rico Enzmann and myself decided to make a two week visit to La Palma to image and observe Jupiter and Saturn as both planets were well placed for observation. The stay involved using various telescopes at a high altitude location on the north west part of the island. We primarilly used an ASA 80cm RC but also the C14 Edge HD.
Overall, during the stay there the weather was favourable and several good nights were experienced. We also had the special opportunity to take a personal tour of the Gran Tecan Telescope located at the Observatory Roque de los Muchachos. This is the largest optical telescope in the world at 10.4m aperture. My sincere thanks to Pedro Alvarez for giving us this memorable tour. Below you will find images and photos taken during the two week stay there.
