July 6th, 2013 - AR11785: Large sunspot AR11785. One of the largest sunspots so far observed during 2013 this group put on a good show through the first half of July. The high resolution view shows the active region in detail as well as the surrounding solar granulation. This image also featured as NASA's Astronomy Picture of the day.
